The 9th International Week took place at the turn of September and October at the Faculty of Education UP, attracting 24 guests from nine different countries. This event, aimed at strengthening international cooperation and mobility of students and staff, became an opportunity to meet, exchange experience and for new participants to get to know not only the university but also the picturesque city of Olomouc.
The aim was to create a platform for personal meetings and establish new contacts between students and academic staff from different parts of the world. Participants engaged in various formal activities such as presentations and lectures where they had the opportunity to share their expertise and experience in the field of pedagogy, special education or language teaching. Informal activities such as social events and excursions contributed to strengthening intercultural ties and allowed participants to get to know Olomouc and its beauty better. The programme included walks through the historic city centre, visits to local landmarks and, of course, tastings of traditional Czech cuisine.
Throughout the event, there was a pleasant and friendly atmosphere that encouraged open communication and cooperation between the participants. It was also possible to share best practices in the field of education that can inspire and enrich pedagogical practice at all participating institutions. Guests expressed their satisfaction with the organization, program and hospitality of the PdF, which only underlined the success of the event.
Thus, International Week at the UP Faculty of Education fulfilled its objective – it created a space for dialogue, support and sharing, which contributed to the development of international relations and enriched the educational experience for all participants. We are looking forward to future editions of this inspiring gathering that strengthens our global community and contributes to the development of education in different cultures.
In conclusion, we would like to thank the participants who made the really long journey to Olomouc, the organizers and the cooperating departments of the home faculty (KPV, UCJ, DigiDen CPSSP), as well as the external partners – Svatoplukova School and International School Olomouc, which the participants were also able to visit. We would like to send a special thanks to the Holba Brewery in Hanušovice, which kindly hosted us on the excursion even in the difficult conditions caused by the recent flood.
